HKAW Chinese New Year Gala
The 7th annual Chinese New Year Gala hosted by the Hong Kong Association of Washington (HKAW) took place on Saturday, January 21 at the Sheraton Hotel. Continuing the success from past years, the event was attended by over 600 hundred guests, including the Lieutenant Governor of Washington, Brad Owen, Attorney General Rob McKenna, and many others. The Gala featured performances from David Leong Shaolin Kung Fu School and the Seattle Chinese Orchestra, as well as a fashion show presented by Luly Yang Couture.
A group of our officers volunteered and helped make it a successful event, not to mention that all proceeds of the Gala goes to charity! Because HKSA cares about the community.
Chinese New Year Dinner
The annual HKSA Chinese New Year Dinner took place on January 27 at Happy Times Bistro in Chinatown. We had a full house and everyone had a lot of fun! The night was filled with fun games, lots of laughter, great atmosphere, oh, and delicious food! So thank you everyone for coming out!
SingCon 2012 Auditions
Yes, it’s that time of the year again! The much anticipated SingCon 2012 auditions took place on 1/28 and 1/29 at the Ethnic Cultural Theater. This year we attracted over 70 super talented singers from different schools around the greater Seattle area to sign up for auditions. The competition is really tough this year, and we’re sure the show this year is going to be the best HKSA has ever hosted, so please look forward to it!
